Volunteer With Us

Volunteer meaning – ‘willing or of one’s own choice’

We place immense value on the generous gifts of time Volunteers offer to the Bone Marrow Cancer Trust and Ranui House. Every day we provide accommodation and support for up to 26 patients and their families – and we can’t do this alone. Volunteers contribute hugely in helping us to provide our home-away-from-home. We are looking for new Volunteers to join our team and lend a helping hand – sound like you? Then apply to join our team!

Volunteering roles on offer

Gardening Heroes – the families love our gardens and so do we! General gardening duties including lawn mowing, weed pulling, herb garden tending. Time commitment weekly for 2 hours or so in spring/summer/early autumn and alternate weeks in winter.

Events – from time to time we run events to raise funds. If you are adept at organising, have an events background or are an all-rounder with far too many skills to mention we would love to talk to you.

The fine print – we will ask for character references as part of Volunteer enrolment, we prefer your referees not to be family members, past or present employers are preferred. All members of our team are required to complete a NZ Police Check. If you are happy with both of these points and give your consent for us to contact you directly please sign up using the form below. We will be back in touch within 72 hours.
