On 11 December, at the Friends of Rānui event held at Rānui House, we had the privilege of celebrating someone whose dedication has truly shaped the Bone Marrow Cancer Trust and the wider cancer care community.
Cilla Glasson who joined the BMCT Board in 2001, was awarded an Honorary Life Membership in recognition of her extraordinary service. The award was presented by BMCT Chairman Max Bremner in front of friends, supporters and trustees.
For over 20 years, Cilla has poured her energy into the Bone Marrow Cancer Trust and beyond raising millions for cancer causes across Canterbury, helping bring world-class technology to Christchurch and ensuring patients and families feel cared for.
Her impact reaches far beyond BMCT. Cilla is a distinguished leader in our community, serving as a trustee for multiple charities and championing social causes across the region. And beyond all those achievements, she has given her time and her heart cooking meals for Rānui families, supporting countless initiatives and inspiring us all with her generosity.
Max Bremner summed it up perfectly:
“Cilla’s unwavering commitment and compassion have left an indelible mark on our Trust and the lives of countless families. This Honorary Life Membership is a small token of our immense gratitude.”
It is with immense admiration that we honour Cilla Glasson with this lifetime recognition. Thank you, Cilla, for making a difference that will last for generations.
