The 23rd Bone Marrow Cancer Trust Annual Charity Golf Tournament was held on Friday 17 October at the beautiful Clearwater Golf Course. With a full field of 26 teams and more than one hundred golfers taking part, the day was filled with connection, generosity and friendly competition all in support of the Bone Marrow Cancer Research Trust.
Proudly presented by Abbott Insurance Brokers, the tournament once again brought together our loyal supporters, sponsors and friends of the Trust. We were delighted to welcome six new teams to the event this year and are extremely grateful for their support. Together, the tournament raised an outstanding $62,000 to help fund vital research and education across Aotearoa New Zealand.
At prizegiving, BMCT Trustee and Haematologist Dr. Sean MacPherson shared insights into the impact of the Research Trust’s work and the difference this support makes to positive outcomes for patients.
Congratulations to the Pump & Filters team winners of the prestigious McIvor Trophy, with Custom Pak taking second place and Spencer Painters finishing third.
Our heartfelt thanks go to our presenting partner Abbott Insurance Brokers, our generous sponsors and donors and everyone who contributed to making this event such a success including our incredible volunteers and each player who joined us on course.
“Each year our golf tournament reminds us of the power of community. Every team, every sponsor and every volunteer helps us move closer to a future where more New Zealanders can benefit from ground-breaking research the Bone Marrow Cancer Research Trust funds” said Mandy Kennedy, Chief Executive of the Bone Marrow Cancer Trust. “We’re deeply grateful for all of the continued support, together we are making a difference.”
We are delighted to announce that the 2026 tournament will once again be held at Clearwater Golf Course on Friday, 27 November.
