"We are all so grateful to Ranui House. Thank you so much for making a difficult time in my life just a little bit easier. You people are like angels and I thank you from the bottom of my heart."
"We spent a total of sixty eight days at Ranui on the first visit and have returned often since. When your world is in a turmoil with many things you cannot control, it is such a huge thing to find refuge from it all."
"...although my husband was seriously ill, life still needed to remain as normal as possible. Ranui became our home away from home. This enabled close involvement in Kevin's treatment which was vital in our understanding and in Kevin's long road to healing."
-Duncan, Alli McKenzie & Family
"Staying at Ranui is a life experience. There is fun and laughter, tears and heartache. A range of life experiences to share. People of all ages, young & old, brought together for the same reason...Who would have ever thought I'd see the day I was a Grandmother."
-The Wispinski Family, Dunedin
"Without Ranui House an extremely stressful situation would have been almost impossible for our family. Being able to have all our family together for the year in Christchurch was a blessing, as it turned out. My wife died not long after returning home. Ranui allowed us to have a year together as a family and again I thank you."
"Ranui House is an excellent home away from home, the best thing is it is so handy to the hospital. The kids can be in their mothers room in about three minutes."
"As a renal patient this is the second time that our family have called Ranui House our home...Ranui has meant that I have been able to stay close to the hospital to receive daily treatment and Dick has been able to bring the children up to stay whenever possible."
-The Ngahooro Family
Ranui house was a blessing. The staff are so empathetic and understanding, during this hard time of having to be away from home having a comforting environment helped ease the stress of having a loved one in hospital. I can't thank you enough for taking such wonderful care of us while we stayed.
We are both so grateful to Ranui House, you have helped make a difficult time in our life easier, being able to go to the appointments and return to Ranui without thinking about car parks and traffic was fantastic.
The hospitality from staff was amazing , always available to help and the Volunteer's dinner was a great way to meet other residents.
We will be returning in a months time and know that it will be like a second home.
Our grateful thanks.
Our Ranui stay for us was the calm water in a crazy storm. Dropped out of our usual routine and health into the madness of hospital visits and an ill loved one. Knowing we had such a beautiful place to rest after a long day was magic. And to the delightful staff who took all the craziness in their stride, thank you for the smiles and tissues. We are truly grateful.
Dear Zoe and Yvonne .............thank you so much for your wonderful compassion during our darkest moment. The wonderful haven of Ranui House, and staff will forever be etched in our memory. Attached just the smallest of tokens of our eternal appreciation and gratitude for everything that Ranui House is, and literally gives ! Truly outstanding ............ thank you , thank you , thank you !!!
To Ranui Staff and Management,
Thank you so much for the "home away from home" that you provide for families under stress caring for their loved ones.
We truly appreciate the effort that is put in by all the staff here at Ranui. The location is ideal and such a lovely view out on to the Avon!
Thank you again from the Wates extended family.
Just want to say a huge thank you for making life seem relatively normal for me while staying. I enjoyed it quite a lot, it was perfect for being able to stay somewhere comfortable while recovering and the apartments are very very nice. I will be keeping in touch when I come up for a visit next.
I am a tourist from China. This February, my husband and I had an car accident in NZ. My husband had his surgery in Christchurch Hospital. During that time, I stayed in Ranui House for four days. The staff, Yvonne and Zoe, took good care of me and helped me get through those tough days.
Now we are nearly better and have already got back to work. My husband and I want to express sincere thanks for them again. Thank you very much!
A huge Thank You.
My husband was flown from Timaru to Christchurch hospital over night and I followed up by car. With nowhere to stay I was introduced to the Ranui House staff. They supplied me with accommodation and wonderful support for 101 days. I met folk some who had been there for months and others new to the situation. Their stories unfolded around the generous afternoon teas and weekly evening meals brought in by volunteers (& Zoe's beautiful scones!)
Allison, Yvonne & Zoe seemed to read my emotions and there was never a time that I left their office with out feeling uplifted. Their cleaning staff always had time to say "Hello" & ask how thing where going in ward 16. So a huge thank you to you all.
The photograph is of Neville's farewell from ward 16 and some of the fantastic team who managed him back to good health.
Sincerely, Ngaire & Neville Orford.
When I ended up in hospital following an accident whilst on holiday, Ranui House provided us a home away from home. It made it easy for Keith to visit when I was in hospital and provided a safe and comfortable place to stay during my outpatient appointments and whilst I recovered enough to be able to fly. Being a long way from our UK home the caring staff all made us feel welcome and the facilities are amazing.
Ranui House is a wonderful place filled with wonderful people and we can't thank them enough.
We provide family apartments and a supportive environment, dependent on the generous and continued support of people just like you.Make a donation today
